One of the explanatory signs around the Butterflies & Blooms exhibit at the zoo. Other panels displayed the individual words for "butterfly" all by themselves. This panel explains the Tibetan, Japanese and Farsi words. The Japanese word is "chôchô" (pronounced with long O's); the Tibetan word, despite looking as though it reads "FiaiFiaiziai" or "FiarFiariziai", is apparently transliterated "cim.cim.ha.me", which may be pronounced "chim-chim-hah-may"... or not... Tibetan spelling is hard to predict... and the Farsi is apparently "parwâneh", pronounced something like "par-VAH-neh".
